Valuations

A wall of framed paintings

Our experts at Gray’s in Northeast Ohio have been valuing art and other precious artifacts for over thirty years. This service is best suited for anyone who can physically bring their item into our auction house if we need to take a closer look to determine whether the items are suitable for auction.

How it works

  1. Submit the valuation request form.
  2. Fill out the form sent to you by email.
  3. We get in touch within two to three business days to request images and additional information as needed.
  4. If we need a closer look to provide an accurate valuation, we will ask you to bring the item into the auction house in Cleveland, Ohio. If you are not in the area, we will not be able to value your piece properly should we need to see it in person.
  5. We contact you within two weeks with the valuation. Once you receive your estimate, you have the option to sell your item in one of our upcoming auctions.

Please keep in mind: initial valuations are done online; due to the volume of requests we expect to reply within two weeks; estimates are subject to change when we see the objects in person and are for guidance only; and we are unable to value items not suitable for auction at Gray’s (tools, kitchen utensils, electronics, toys, records, CDs and DVDs, for example). For the valuation of a larger collection, contact our Valuations Department at 216-226-3300.
